From Shyness to Confidence
Abby, from Nursery B, was once a shy girl, often found quietly to herself, struggling with pen control and cutting skills.
However, she has since blossomed remarkably, displaying newfound confidence and focus. Abby now excels in creating beautiful arts and crafts, confidently follows instructions, and engages in various activities with ease.
Focus and engagement
Juna, a student in Nursery B, has made remarkable strides this month, emerging as the class's pioneer in grasping initial sounds and rhyming patterns. Her exceptional focus and active engagement are evident as she diligently completes tasks with precision and confidence.
Little Einstein
Ayumu, from Year 6, has been demonstrating exceptional skills as a student. He is originally from Japan and previously attended international schools in Africa and Argentina. It is such a pleasure to have him in the Y6 class because he is known as the “little Einstein” who is knowledgeable in science and mathematics. In addition, he always has a smile on his face and gets along with all of his classmates and teachers.
A big heart boy
Iyess, from Year 6, is an enthusiastic and likable student who shows remarkable growth and exceptional participation in Y6 class. He is from Tunisia which is a North African country. In BIS, he leads by example, works hard and has been selected to play for the BIS football team. Recently, he received two of the Cambridge Learner Attributes Awards. In addition, Iyess always tries to help his homeroom teacher in school, improve his decision-making, and has a very big heart when you take the time to bond with him.
Little Ballet Prince
Discovering one's passion and hobbies from a young age is an incredible stroke of luck. Klaus, a Year 6 student, is one of those fortunate individuals. His love for ballet and dedication to practice have allowed him to shine on the ballet stage, earning him multiple international awards. Recently, he achieved the Gold Medal + PDE Grand Prize at the CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL DE DANSE PRIX D'EUROPE final. Next, he aims to establish a ballet club at BIS, hoping to inspire more people to fall in love with ballet.
Great progress in mathematics
George and Robertson from Year 9, have made great progress in mathematics. They started with pre-assessment grades of D and B, respectively, and are now both getting A*s. The quality of their work is improving daily, and they are on a steady path to maintaining their grades.
