Personal Experience
A News Editor for Hollywood Chinese TV
Hello, everyone! My name is Daisy, I'm the Art & Design teacher of BIS. I graduated with my master's degree in photography from New York Film Academy. I used to work as a film still photographer with different film shooting crew during school.
Then I worked as an intern photojournalist for an American Charity-Young Men's Christian Association and one my photos had been used in Los Angeles Times.
After graduation, I worked as a news editor for Hollywood Chinese TV and a freelance photojournalist in Chicago. I really enjoyed my time as a photographer and found the whole experience enjoyable, stimulating, and fulfilling. I liked to travel around to improve my vision and my grip on reality.
In my opinion, photography is about our interpretation of the scene, used to further our conceptual idea. The camera is merely a tool to create art.
Artistic Views
No Limitations
I have more than 6 years teaching experience as an Art & Design teacher in China. As an artist and a teacher, I usually encourage myself and students to use different materials and colors to create artworks. The most important feature of contemporary art is that there are no limitations or real defining characteristics of it, and it is marked by its diversity of mediums and styles. We get more opportunities to express myself through using many different forms such as photography, installation, performance art.
Studying art can increase confidence, concentration, motivation, and teamwork. I wish that I can help every student to improve their creativity skills, express their emotions and give them the opportunity to showcase their talent.
